ORTHOPEDICS AND TRAUMATOLOGY

ORTHOPEDICS AND TRAUMATOLOGY

Orthopaedics is the surgical discipline concerned with the treatment of diseases of the skeletal system, including traumatology, which focuses on the treatment of injuries caused by trauma.
Musculoskeletal disorders affect about one-third of the population, and although most resolve spontaneously, some cases require immediate diagnosis and therapy to prevent chronic conditions and disabling sequelae. The most commonly treated orthopaedic conditions at the "Corte della Salute" include:
  • Knee pathologies
  • Shoulder pathologies
  • Hand and foot pathologies
  • Spinal pathologies
  • Hip pathologies
  • Minor trauma
The primary objective of the Orthopaedics Service is to ensure resolution of the problem for the patient through an accurate diagnosis, precise imaging diagnostics, surgical treatment when necessary, and appropriate physiotherapeutic rehabilitation.
In diagnostics, particularly for tendon changes and anomalies that are not clinically or radiologically detectable, the orthopaedic specialists at "Corte della Salute" use:
  • Musculoskeletal and osteoarticular ultrasounds
In therapeutic treatments, they focus on managing inflammation and pain through:
  • Intra-articular injections, including hyaluronic acid.
