At the "Corte della Salute," it is possible to undergo specialist visits, psychocognitive evaluation tests, and requests for disability and "Accompaniment" status.
Improvements in hygiene and nutrition, along with advances in medical science, have led, since the last century, to an increase in life expectancy by an average of thirty years. However, the prevalence of chronic and degenerative diseases has also risen in parallel.
The Geriatrician is the specialist who cares for elderly individuals through a comprehensive, diagnostic, and therapeutic approach, aimed at maintaining the highest possible degree of social independence and the best possible quality of life.
The activities at the "Corte della Salute" focus on:
- Functional assessment, defined as determining the level of autonomy in daily life.
- Cognitive and psychological assessment (identification of signs of dementia, depression, other intellectual deficits, and mood disorders).
- Management of pharmacological therapy, often complex.
- Prevention of malnutrition, falls, complications from pre-existing chronic diseases, and functional and cognitive decline.
