RHINOPLASTY

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is usually performed under general anaesthesia. After making incisions inside the nose (in the vestibular area), the skin is mobilised from the underlying skeleton. The procedure involves removing any dorsal hump and isolating the cartilages (alar, septal, and triangular), which are reduced to the necessary size to reshape the tip.

If the procedure is associated with the correction of a deviated septum, it is done through the same incisions made for the rhinoplasty. At the end of the procedure, nasal casts are applied to immobilise the bones.
