MESOTHERAPY

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy, more correctly referred to as intradermal regional therapy, is a method of administering medication through intradermal injections, meaning within the dermis (the layer of skin between the epidermis and hypodermis), of small amounts of drugs or other substances. The injections, evenly distributed in the area to be treated, are performed using needles just a few millimetres long with a very small diameter. The points where these micro-injections are administered are well-defined topographical areas corresponding to the zones to be treated (localised area of pain or other disorder), the skin projection of an organ or part of an organ affected by pathology, areas corresponding to specific anatomical-physiological references, or reflex points. A variant currently in use involves injecting substances at acupuncture points.
The substances to be injected are carefully selected by the physician, who makes therapeutic choices based on the issues to be addressed and the patient’s specific and general clinical conditions.
The number and frequency of sessions can vary greatly depending on the type of pathology, the area to be treated, and the therapeutic response.
Fields of application for Mesotherapy: circulatory disorders (venous and lymphatic insufficiency, telangiectasia, capillary fragility, etc.), localised fat, cellulite, skin laxity, stretch marks and tissue firming, skin aging, wrinkles and facial imperfections, joint and muscle pain, arthropathies (osteoarthritis, periarthritis, etc.), dermatological conditions (acne, herpes, alopecia, keloids), musculoskeletal injuries, and sports trauma.
